Pedal to the Medal
It is with great glee that we present to you today’s 2010 Laurier Los Carneros Chardonnay. This wonderful, budget-friendly wine is a real gem.
Lightweight on entry and then fast across the palate, this approachable, flexible and easy-drinking wine is a terrific summertime refresher.
We enjoyed our sample bottles with food and without. We tried the wine fresh out of the chiller - and then slightly warmed. Icy cold, the wine is ultra refreshing. We even added a few berries. For a more elegant experience, allow the wine to warm up just a bit. As it warms, it softens, giving the wine a more round and more full overall mouthfeel.

Tasting Profile
Look: | Pretty glinting gold with perfectly even coloration from heart to edge. |
---|---|
Smell: | This fresh wine leads with Granny Smith apple peel, lemon zest, wet river rock, oyster shell, subtle gardenia and a touch of subtle butterscotch. |
Taste: | Lemon curd, lime flower, white rose petal, apricot, young pear, pomello, quince and white minerals. |
Finish: | Very clean and long lingering with great mid-palate acidity. |
Pairing: | Mussels in a lemongrass and saffron broth would be an amazing pairing. Add a single Thai chili for a little bit of heat. This Chardonnay would cut right through it. |
