We first visited with Hall Wines in 2007, just two years after they opened their state-of-the-art Napa Valley winery. With just a few vintages under their belts at the time, the winery showed remarkable promise. Today, Hall has matured into a winery whose wines establish them as a true part of the winery landscape. Hall neighbors include some of Napa’s oldest and finest, with V. Sattui, Prager Portworks and Louis M. Martini practically surrounding the winery.
Today’s Hall Winery 2011 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a classically styled Napa Cabernet that gets a special lift from the Hall style of winemaking. Their wines are rich and ripe - but still built to age - making their wines ready to drink, right on release. And, while today’s wine is wonderful right now, we think that it will continue to improve over the next decade.
Enjoy this wonderfully flavorful wine all on its own, or with a variety of richer food pairings. A grilled porterhouse steak with mushrooms and peppercorn butter is a wonderful go-to choice for this beautiful beast of a wine.
Deep, vivid crimson at its heart, transitioning ever so slightly to a red edge.
Dark, ripe fruit aromas of plum, blackberry, and black cherry sit atop notes of sweet tobacco, aged mahogany cigar box, cocoa powder, and black peppercorn.
Bold, balanced, and full bodied, with bright dark fruit notes of blackberry and plum seamlessly joining fresh berry bramble, sweet cedar wood, chocolate covered espresso bean, cinnamon, clove, and a slight hint of pomegranate black tea.
Well-rounded, with wonderful continuity from beginning to end, the concentrated notes of dark fruit lead to velvety, grippy tannins on the back of the palate.

90 Point Review - Antonio Galloni The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon is dark, rich and voluptuous. Mocha, espresso, plum, black cherry and intense spices all meld together in a textured, layered wine loaded with class and personality. As always, the Hall Cabernets are forward, fruit-driven and super-rich. This is a great introduction to the house style.
