Mission Briefing

Codename:

Swan Song

Today’s Swanson Vineyards 2012 Napa Valley Chardonnay is a soft, elegant and oh so delicious wine that is absolutely perfect on the winter celebration table. That said, though, we’ll be holding several bottles for warmer weather. Warm weather or cool, this wine will thrill any lover of exceptional Chardonnay.

Made by wine legend Chris Phelps, this wine is a delicious treat made for the winery’s special reserve tier, earning the wine their special Salon Wine Selection label. Enjoy the lovely brightness and balanced flavors of this wine with a wide variety of food pairings - or sip it all on its own. Whether you enjoy the wine by the fireside this winter, or with your favorite springtime fare, you’ll be very happy that you purchased such a fantastic Chardonnay.

Tasting Profile

Look:

Pale, light golden hued throughout, and perfectly diffuse from center to rim.

Smell:

Bright and airy on the nose, with notes of tart apple, lemongrass, lime flower, orange blossom, and jasmine.

Taste:

Crisp and wonderfully refreshing, with notes of Meyer lemon, white peach, guava, vanilla bean, molasses, and lavender.

Finish:

Elegant and long lasting on the finish, with a subtle brown sugar sweetness at the end of the palate.

Pairing:

We would recommend a casserole of artichoke hearts stuffed with freshly grated Romano cheese and garlic.
