Mission Briefing

Codename:

The Bee's Knees

Today’s Meadowcroft Wines 2012 Carneros Sonoma County Pinot Noir is another stunner from our friend Tom Meadowcroft. We have always enjoyed Tom’s offerings, and today’s is most certainly no different.

This wine is crafted in a very approachable and friendly manner, highlighted by tart red cherry and fresh raspberry notes. This clean, fruit-forward style makes it a perfect pairing for a lighter appetizer course.

This wine is drinking beautifully now, and we expect that it will only continue to improve the longer it’s in bottle. Don’t miss out!

Tasting Profile

Look:

Slightly dark plum at the center of the glass, slowly transitioning to lighter hazy red rim.

Smell:

Very clean and bright on the nose, with red fruit notes of cherry and raspberry mingling with subtle hints of sweet terroir, dried rose petal, rosemary, and sage.

Taste:

Very approachable in flavor profile, with tart red cherry, fresh raspberry, and a touch of strawberry laid overtop hints of spring leaf, lavender, clove, rosemary, and a touch of pink peppercorn.

Finish:

A very light and easy drinking Pinot, this wine will only continue to get better. A lovely pop of acidity highlights the finish.

Pairing:

Fettuccine with dried porcini and pancetta, served with grated Parmigiano-Reggiano and fresh parsley.
