2011 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc •Single Vineyard
California: Napa Valley
Today’s 2011 Maroon Wines Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc is a lively, refreshing, delicious treat that is perfect for summertime sipping or fine dining.
We’ve had the distinct pleasure of showcasing Maroon’s wines over the last several years and we always find them to be exceptional. With today’s Sauvignon Blanc, Paul Maroon shows his developing prowess as a Napa Valley winemaker.
Today’s wine is a lively and complex summertime refresher that begs to be enjoyed with a wide variety of foods. Fantastic on its own, but great with food, we recommend this wine with everything from a fruit & cheese plate to battered fish or even a cream sauce pasta.
This wine is drinking beautifully now, and we’ll be holding some aside for future dinners.
Brilliant light gold with edges that catch the light, casting off golden glints.
Bright and lively, with fresh green fig, green apple, fresh fennel, lime leaf and subtle lemon.
Softly puckering and bright, with tart lime, lemon shortcake cookie, young yellow peach, lime zest and a hint of toasty caramel.
Long and bright with tart citrus and lime leaf. Gradually drying with a hint of toasty oak at the very end.
A classic British fish & chips would be an ideal pairing. Crab cakes with a fennel frond, lemon and garlic aioli would also be superb.
