2009 Hallberg Vineyard Crossroads Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir •Hallberg Vineyard
California: Sonoma County: Russian River Valley
Pinot fans, have we got a treat for you! Agent Red has been on a mission of late to unearth the best Pinots he can find, and today’s just might be it.
Coming from one of the most sought after vineyards in the Russian River Valley, today’s Alysian Wines 2009 Pinot Noir is, quite simply, one of the most elegant and outright delicious wines we’ve had in some time. The winery was started by RRV legend Gary Farrell, and his prowess is clearly evident in today’s wine.
Run, hop, skip or jump - do whatever you need to to get your hands on today’s outstanding 94 Point stunner!
Beautiful, near translucent ruby from heart to edge.
Full aromas of dark cherry and red currant overlap more earthy hints of cedar wood, dark baking spices, rose petals, and a touch of subtle herbs.
Layered and complex in the best way possible, with sweet plum, cherry, and slight cranberry mingling with notes of aged sandalwood, toasty oak spice, sweet tobacco leaf, black peppercorn, and just a slight kick of espresso bean.
After decanting, you’ll be met with an elegant, luxurious Pinot with a classic Russian River Valley flavor profile.
Grilled pork tenderloin with figs and rosemary.
