All hail Rudy! One of our favorite winemakers, Rudy Zuidema, makes a welcome return to TWS with today’s incredibly delicious Tudal Family Winery 2010 Napa Valley Cuvée.

We were lucky enough to have Rudy present today’s wine at our most recent tasting panel, and the conviction and joy in his voice as he described the winemaking process let us know we were in for a treat. And, boy, were we ever! Bursting with flavor and near perfectly balanced, today’s wine is a show stopper. This is truly one of the most delicious wines we’ve tasted in quite some time.

Please don’t walk - RUN! - for today’s fantastic Red Blend. At today’s wallet-friendly price, it won’t last the day!

Tasting Profile

Look:

Super dark, inky scarlet.

Smell:

Very aromatic, with a lovely blend of fresh and preserved fruit, sweet plum, boysenberry, and raspberry jam layered overtop sweet tobacco leaf, freshly tilled earth, sandalwood, coffee bean, black peppercorn, and clove.

Taste:

Incredibly well rounded and flavorful, with bold dark fruit notes of blackberry, black cherry, and mulberry mingling with cedar wood, toasted oak, black peppercorn, clove, and a subtle dried herbal undertone.

Finish:

Smooth, supple, and wonderfully long lasting, the finish seems to go on forever - and begs for a follow-up sip!

Pairing:

Homemade meatloaf, served with mushroom sauce drizzled overtop.
