Tasting Profile
Look: | Impenetrably deep scarlet, with a foreboding heart and a slight lighter glimmer at the edge. |
---|---|
Smell: | Delightful perfumy aromatics, with ripe dark berries framed against summer briar patch, toasty dark baking spices, dried rose petals, and hints of a fresh summer garden. |
Taste: | Layered and robust, with juicy dark berries and black cherry laid overtop currant, dark chocolate, espresso bean, fresh cedar wood, clove, and black peppercorn. |
Finish: | A decanter, this wine benefits greatly from a little air. Nice, soft tannins frame a lengthy finish, with a touch of dried cranberry lingering on the edges of the palate. |
Pairing: | Grilled pork tenderloin, served with a goat cheese, tomato, and blueberry salad. |
