Summer Classic
Today’s Benevolo Wines 2009 Napa Valley Red Wine is a hidden gem that our Agent Red was able to uncover on a recent trip to Napa. The best part? He was able to score today’s wine at OVER 50% off!
Today’s wine is incredibly sippable, with a smooth finish and just a touch of velvety tannins. We really loved how unpretentious and clean today’s wine was - making it perfect for your next big meal. Today’s wine will complement any number of meals, but we would highly recommend pairing it with your next dinner of grilled burgers.
Cheers!
Tasting Profile
Look: | Deep, dark cherry red in the center of the glass, with a slow transition to lighter ruby along the fringe. |
---|---|
Smell: | Very well rounded aromatics, with reduced dark fruit notes of black cherry and blackberry framed against aged saddle leather, pipe tobacco, toasted oak, dark baking spices, and a subtle hint of pomegranate. |
Taste: | A lovely flavor trio of sweet tobacco leaf, berry bramble, and softly grilled sweet plum greet you initially on the palate. These flavors are quickly followed by hints of light roasted coffee bean, boysenberry, dried raspberry, sandalwood, dried fallen leaves, and cranberry. |
Finish: | Smooth upon entry, with grippy tannins and nice structure, the flavors slowly fade until a touch of cranberry is left on the tip of the tongue. |
Pairing: | A gourmet burger, grilled to perfection, then finished with aged cheddar, homemade ketchup (seriously amazing stuff!), and heaps of fresh veggies. Throw some roasted potatoes and grilled corn-on-the-cob alongside for a perfect summer meal. |
