Dark crimson, almost cherry red, in the center of the glass. This color persists nearly perfectly from center to edge.
Delightful fruity aromas of fresh cherry and strawberry are joined by a surprising, though most welcome, note of dried blueberry. These are joined by subtle hints of dried fallen leaves, fresh bramble, soft brown baking spices, and white peppercorn.
A very nice blend of fresh and dried fruit lead the way on the palate, with fresh dark cherry and boysenberry mingling with dried Mission fig and raspberry. Notes of berry bramble, cinnamon, nutmeg, coffee bean, and soft dried herbs join in.
Velvety on the finish, with berry flavors slowly trailing away while a persistent note of brown baking spice lingers through until the end.
Grilled shrimp, served with a drizzle of tamarind sauce.
What the Winery Says
This wine is robust and flavorful with aromatics of cherry with a touch of strawberry coupled with bold flavors of dark cherries, black raspberry with a hint of cinnamon. Its bright garnet color displays a velvety texture, elegant berry flavors and a nice oak finish.

About the Winery
Thomas Henry is named after winemaker Tom Meadowcroft’s father who was passionate about life and knew great wine didn’t always have to cost a lot of money. They lived and traveled throughout Europe together by car, foot and bicycle, sharing the lessons of life, family and friends. These wines reflect a subtle European style of winemaking, yet with the depth and energy we love in new world wines. Thomas Henry is created for everyday enjoyment and entertaining, and delivers serious value for any wine enthusiast.
Winemaker Tom Meadowcroft
My passion for wines comes from my experiences growing up, working and traveling in Europe and the United States. Early in life, I started my journey in winemaking by working the harvest of 1979 in Bordeaux. Later in life, I worked at wineries in Washington and Napa, attended UC Davis and Napa College, and then became a vineyard manager focused on sustainable farming and environmental advocacy. Managing dozens of properties for the top wineries in Napa and Sonoma taught me the principles of winegrowing and gave me a vision for the kinds of wines that I make today.
Our family name, Meadowcroft, means the fertile field on the meadow…a garden that has been carefully nurtured over time. That symbolizes our hard work, the journey of mastering a discipline, and the process of transforming grapes from single vineyards into outstanding wines.
