Tenute Del Cabreo
2010 Il Borgo
Italy: Tuscany: Chianti
Deep, dark garnet at its core, mellowing slightly into a lighter ruby edge.
Rich and robust on the nose, with concentrated aromas of blackberry, plum, and black cherry elegantly laid overtop notes of aged leather, sweet cedar wood, vanilla, and clove.
Elegant and wonderfully balanced, with the deep notes of dark fruit beautifully playing off terroir and spice. Stewed black cherry and black currant meld with flavors of sweet tobacco, aged spice box, fresh berry bramble, espresso bean, rosemary, sage, and a hint of herbal black tea.
A truly fantastic ‘Super Tuscan’ blend, with ripe, velvety tannins leading to a well-structured and eminently satisfying finale.
A classic meal of beef short ribs, braised with carrots and root vegetables, served atop creamy polenta.
