Grand Finale

Today’s St. Amant Winery 2012 Mohr-Fry Ranch Old Vine Zinfandel is that rarest of rare gems - an unbelievably great wine at a price that is almost too good to believe.

In honor of Independence Day, we sought out an extra special wine to celebrate this big day. And, boy, did we succeed! Today’s wine scored an astounding 100 Points in a blind tasting from Master Sommelier Catherine Fallis.

This wine has layer upon layer of delicious dark fruit and terroir, with a level of complexity not often seen in a California Zin. With this pedigree and this flavor profile, our jaws absolutely dropped when we learned of the price. A wine this good for under $20? I can think of quite a few Agents who are going to stock up on this fantastic deal. Make sure you don’t miss out on this incredible offer!

Tasting Profile

Deep garnet at the center, with a rustic, hazy ruby ring encircling the glass.

Beautifully aromatic, with red fruit and dark spice notes leaping from the glass. Hints of fresh strawberry and cherry mingle with fresh berry bramble, cedar wood, dark baking spices, toasted oak, dark chocolate, and European licorice.

Bold flavors of black cherry, boysenberry, and black currant are delicately laid overtop notes of dark chocolate, espresso bean, sweet tobacco leaf, and robust dark baking spices.

Soft and silky, with a fantastic mouthfeel, this wine is well structured, with soft tannins and plenty of lingering notes of bright red fruit.

A gourmet burger, perfectly grilled, with smoked Gouda and a buttery brioche bun. And don’t forget plenty of fresh veggies!
