We love Love LOVE when Miro Tcholakov stops by our weekly tastings. Not only does he add his expert winemaking opinion and wit to the panel (really, he regales us with exciting tales), but he always brings a few of his delicious gems in tow as well. This week was no different. Miro brought us his 2012 Piccetti Vineyard Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel which, once again, sent us over the moon.
A beautiful dark red in the glass, today’s wine has classic notes of rich, dark fruit, espresso bean, and dark spice through and through - in other words, this wine delivers exactly what one hopes for in a top-tier Zinfandel. And the most amazing part? Today’s wine is only $18.99.
At today’s price, a few Agents are going to be snapping up this wine by the CASE, so please hurry! The sell-out timer is counting down fast…
Tasting Profile
Look: | A beautiful dark sanguine red through and through, with subtle flecks of purple. |
---|---|
Smell: | Bold, lush aromas of ripe dark cherry, dried blueberry, and sweet black plum are paired with dried herbal elements of sage and rosemary, a touch of freshly tilled earth, and cherry wood cigar box. |
Taste: | A rich and elegant wine that drinks far above its price point. Ripe dark fruit of black cherry and blackberry mingle with vanilla bean, black peppercorn, espresso bean, sweet tobacco leaf, warm brown baking spices, and a bit of log fire smoke. |
Finish: | A very well rounded wine, with an incredible mouthfeel and silkiness to it. |
Pairing: | A gourmet burger, with crumbled blue cheese, caramelized sweet onions, and a mountain of fresh veggies. Served alongside roasted fingerling potatoes. |
