Saintly Value
Final Availability Alert Agent Red was able to get his hands on a few more bottles of today’s delicious wine. Here is what we had to say about it previously:
We are simply crazy about today’s Three Saints Wines 2007 67 Red Blend!
Our entire tasting panel was giddy when tasting this wonderful wine. When Agent Red told the panel that the selling price would be less than $20, several panelists visibly swooned. All on the panel agreed that this wine is the finest under-$20 that The Wine Spies has featured all year.
This delectable wine is bold and mouthwatering, loaded with dark fruit and earthen notes that balance each other very nicely. Sweet and softly spicy aromatics make the wine a delight to simply inhale - before taking that first juicy sip.
This is the sort of wine that you should stock up on. Serve it to guests during the holidays, but then keep plenty on-hand as a go-to staple for your casual at-home enjoyment.
Tasting Profile
Look: | Deep, dark, vivid scarlet, nearly perfectly opaque at its heart, transitioning to a slightly lighter red edge. |
---|---|
Smell: | A delightfully balanced nose of tart black cherry, black currant, brushy Provençal herbs, Acacia wood spice box, American oak, and sweet vanilla spice. |
Taste: | Leading with bold dark fruit notes of stewed blackberry and plum, the palate is rounded out with earthy notes of sweet tobacco, fresh forest floor, and herbal notes of rosemary, holiday baking spice, and pomegranate black tea. |
Finish: | Well structured, with just a bit of fine tannin, this wine has a satisfyingly long finish, with the dark fruit slowly transitioning into earth and spice and leaving you with just a hint of eucalyptus at the back of the palate. |
Pairing: | We would recommend a non-traditional meal of a Moroccan spiced vegetable stew with eggplant, cauliflower, and tomato. |
