Mission Briefing

Codename:

To the power of Zin

Today’s D-Cubed Cellars 2011 Napa Valley Zinfandel Rosé was handcrafted by winemaker Duane Dappen, who perfected his craft at Grgich Hills Estate, Rombauer and Storybook Mountain before launching his own D-Cubed Cellars label. This pedigree shines through in today’s dynamite Rosé.

While perfect for a summer afternoon, today’s wine has a bit more heft than your typical Rosé. Crisp and refreshing, today’s wine has strong hints of bright red fruit and warm spice that speak directly to the quality of the Zinfandel grapes that went into this excellent Rosé.

Don’t miss out on this under $14 summer stunner - your next BBQ party guests will certainly thank you!

Tasting Profile

Look:

Gorgeous deep ruby in the glass, with a slight rust at the edge of the glass.

Smell:

Pleasant aromas of wild strawberry and raspberry, quickly trailed by touches of brioche, warm baking spice, dried flower petals, and slight vanilla bean.

Taste:

Dark cherry, raspberry, and boysenberry lead the way on the palate, with notes of vanilla bean, toasty baking spices, pomegranate, white herbal tea, and dried rose petals rounding out the flavor profile.

Finish:

With a bit of oomph, today’s wine is more serious in character than your typical rosé. The finish is highlighted by a lovely pop of acidity and lingering flavors of cranberry.

Pairing:

A perfect companion to grilled chicken, finished with your favorite tangy BBQ sauce.
