Mission Briefing

Codename:

The Dark (and delicious) Side

Looking for a slight twist on your average Pinot? Then look no further than today’s exceptional Furthermore Wines 2010 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.

Crafted from the prestigious Russian River Valley, today’s Pinot is darker and more brooding than we typically see from the varietal. Full of dark fruit, dark spices, and dark earth, today’s wine truly is a trip to the delicious darker side of Pinot.

If you are looking for something off the beaten path - something exciting and very food-friendly - you’ll be very pleased with this highly recommended Pinot Noir.

Tasting Profile

Look:

A dark baked cherry red, with subtle flecks of purple present as well.

Smell:

On the darker side of Pinot Noir, with dark fruit flavors of black cherry and sweet plum abutting toasty dark baking spices, sweet tobacco leaf, black peppercorn, and a touch of cherry hard candy.

Taste:

A delicious and quite dense flavor profile on today’s wine. Braised blackberry and grilled plum are laid overtop clove, cinnamon, dried black cherry, dried summer earth, and aged cedar wood grilling chips.

Finish:

Deeper, darker, and more brooding than your average Pinot, today’s wine is a beautifully unique change from your everyday Pinot Noir. Delicious and oh so smooth, the dark fruit notes linger on the side of your tongue as the flavors slowly fade.

Pairing:

A slowly braised pork shoulder, finished with your favorite tangy BBQ sauce and served alongside grilled veggies.
