Concentrate on this
We love when we get a chance to feature one of Maroon’s exceptional wines. We can always count on winemaker Paul Maroon to craft wines of the highest quality - that’s why Joseph Phelps(of the Insignia blend fame) sources many of his grapes from Maroon’s vineyards.
Today’s 2009 Reserve Napa Valley Syrah wine is blockbuster of a Syrah, with a juicy, fruit-packed character that’s underpinned by a subtle layer of smoky cherry wood.
Please accept our boldest recommendation for today’s lushly flavored treat. Cheers!
Tasting Profile
Look: | A rich, vibrant dark burgundy through and through. |
---|---|
Smell: | Lushly layered, with dense, dark berries laid overtop dark chocolate, mocha, rosemary, sage, and smoky cherry wood. |
Taste: | This wine is one to write home about - rich flavors continue to display themselves with each successive sip. Ripe blackberry, black raspberry, and mulberry are joined by sweet tobacco leaf, lavender, allspice, rosemary, summer earth, and black peppercorn. |
Finish: | A killer wine with a beautiful fruit-forward style. Mouth coating flavors slowly trail away, till just a hint of sweet, ripe fruit remains. |
Pairing: | A grilled leg of lamb, dry rubbed with garlic, sage, and rosemary. |
