Mission Briefing
King Viognier
We love it when our Operatives send in recommendations for us. Some of our favorite wines, in fact, have come from Operatives’ suggestions. And we firmly count today’s Leojami Wines 2012 Arroyo Seco Cedar Lane Vineyard Viognier in that list.
Fresh and inviting, with a really lovely acidity, today’s wine is perfect for afternoon sipping or pairing with a meal. We chose to pair ours with some homemade crab cakes and the combination was stunning.
Please enjoy our recommendation for today’s delightfully flavored - and delightfully well priced - Viognier. Cheers!
Tasting Profile
Look: | A very clear, pale sunny golden hue throughout. |
---|---|
Smell: | Fresh and inviting aromas of tangerine, white peach, papaya and ruby red grapefruit rush out to greet you, with complementary notes of lemon zest, lime leaf, and white tea quickly following as well. |
Taste: | Very pleasant, with crisp, refreshing flavors that had us reaching for more. Similar to the nose, hints of fresh white peach and tangerine join notes of orange oil, dried flower petals, Meyer lemon zest, and lightly steeped white tea. |
Finish: | A really lovely acidity, paired with fresh fruit flavors and a refreshing mouthfeel, make today’s Viognier quite the treat. The finish is long and delicate. |
Pairing: | Homemade crab cakes, served with a saffron aioli. |
