2012 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
California: Sonoma County: Russian River Valley
A hearty, deep ruby red in the center of the glass, with flecks of darker magenta throughout.
Very pleasant, fruit forward aromas on today’s wine. Deep black cherry, plum, and currant leads the way, with touches of summer bramble, tobacco leaf, and black peppercorn as well.
Deliciously fruit-driven across the palate, with robust, juicy black cherry and Santa Rosa plum laid overtop dried rose petals, mushroomy earth, toasty cherry wood, candied red cherry, peppercorn, and a slight touch of fresh rosemary.
Very soft on entry, with bright acidity and just a touch of fine, velvety tannin structure.
Grilled pork tenderloin, served with a sour cherry balsamic glaze.
