Preston of Dry Creek
2012 Dry Creek Valley Syrah/Sirah Blend

Today’s Preston Family Vineyards 2012 Dry Creek Valley Syrah/Sirah Blend is a scrumptious and oh-so-soft blend that had our entire Tasting Panel licking their lips for more.
Lou Preston, the proprietor of Preston Family Vineyards, is largely recognized as the guiding light of organic farming in the Dry Creek Valley. As they say, he went 100% organic before it was cool. What we say is the meticulous care and exacting standards that Preston uses in their vineyards is why today’s blend is just so darn good. Richly flavored, with a lovely balance between juicy dark fruit and spicy earth flavors, today’s wine is everything you hope a Syrah-based blend would be.
Today’s wine drinks beautifully now, but is sure to become something extra special with a few years in the cellar. Be sure to grab enough to enjoy it now… and later!
Voluminous color on today’s wine. A deep crimson/magenta blend through and through.
A deliciously earthy blend of robust fruit and earth. Fresh dark plum and blackberry are laid overtop notes of smoky dried meat, sandalwood, brown baking spices, and super fresh black peppercorn.
Remarkable balance between fruit and earth. Ripe and juicy dark fruit, particularly Santa Rosa plum and blackberry, is given equal placement to hints of cedar wood cigar box, rich mahogany, saddle leather, dry berry bramble, clove, coffee bean, semisweet chocolate, and ground black peppercorn.
Smooth as silk, with just enough tannin to give it the perfect amount of structure and complexity to be paired with a wide variety of meals.
Can’t do much better than the winery’s own suggestion: Chestnut and spinach stuffed pork tenderloin wrapped in prosciutto.
