Mission Briefing

Slice of Summer

We don’t offer many Chenin Blancs, but after tasting today’s Picnic Wine Co. 2012 d^ner Chenin Blanc*, we knew we had to bring it to our Operatives. In fact, as soon as we got our noses in the glass and experienced the absolutely **stunning aromatics of today’s wine, we knew we had a winner.

Today’s wine has bright, full aromas of pineapple, banana, and Asian pear jump right out of the glass. More than a few of tasting panelists sat back and simply said “Mmm” after experiencing it. On the palate, the wine is incredibly easy drinking and approachable, and the perfect accompaniment for a spicy meal.

If you’re new to Chenin, then today’s delightful $9.99 treat is the perfect way to introduce yourself.

Tasting Profile

A delicate pale golden hue. The wine trails ever so slowly down the glass after a hearty swirl.

A beautiful bouquet of fruit-forward aromatics, highlighted by Asian pear, pineapple and ripe banana. These bright fruit notes are trailed by touches of honeysuckle and a natural citrus style that’s incredibly inviting.

Light hearted and easy drinking, the palate is a bit like the more subdued older brother of the flavors you experience on the nose. Subtle hints of young pineapple, guava, and white peach mingle with lime leaf, honeycomb, and a touch of white tea.

A very pleasant and approachable white wine that will be a perfect reminder of summer as colder weather approaches. Be sure to enjoy today’s wine extra chilled.

White fish tacos, served with creamy avocado and a drizzle of spicy Sriracha.
