2009 Mt. Veeder District Cabernet Franc
California: Napa Valley: Mt. Veeder
Take me to your Veeder!
Only 4 barrels of today’s exceptional Random Ridge 2009 Mt. Veeder District Cabernet Franc were produced and we got our hands on as many as we could - but it won’t be enough. **Please hurry!**
Today’s wine is beyond exceptional, beautifully layered and delightfully aromatic. This wine will grow on you, with flavors slowly emerging the longer you spend with it. This proved a challenge for our Tasting Panel, as we just couldn’t empty our glasses quick enough!
Please enjoy today’s incredible wine with our heartiest recommendation.
Deep, dark garnet in color, reminiscent of a true Bordeaux. When swirled, the wine appears soft and viscous.
Delicately perfumy and bold all at once, with rich notes of black cherry, black currant, lavender, baker’s chocolate, and graphite. A wonderful dried herbal note, reminding us of manzanita and sage, runs through the wine as well.
Beautifully layered, with lush, bold flavors revealing themselves one after another. Black cherry, plum, and dried cranberry are joined by hints of herbal black tea, dark chocolate, molasses, and a subtle river rock minerality. These flavors are wonderfully balanced and well integrated.
Best decanted, today’s wine has a seemingly endless finish, with robust flavors that last until you’re ready for the next sip. A true joy.
Grilled rack of lamb, prepared with a rosemary and garlic rub. Serve with roasted fingerling potatoes.
