World Wide Win
Today’s W3 - William White Wines 2012 Napa Valley Zinfandel is yet another feather in winemaker William White’s cap. He continues to WOW us with each and every wine he offers.
Mr. White (no, not that one!) is a master craftsman, with each of his wines possessing an elegance and class that only come from years of experience. Even more, he has quite the knack for finding only the best fruit for his wines. His Cabs routinely come from vineyards used by Caymus, and today’s Zin is no different, with its fruit coming from a former Rosenblum Cellars vineyard. Rosenblum is well known for producing some of the best single-vineyard Zins in the land, and today’s $25.99 stunner is right up there, as well.
Don’t miss out on your chance to grab today’s flavorful Zin - for less. Go ahead and brag to your friends about the great deal you found. We won’t tell!
Tasting Profile
Look: | A deep cherry red, with glints of magenta as you give the wine a swirl. |
---|---|
Smell: | Very well balanced and deeply aromatic, with robust red fruit aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry, and raspberry framed against dusty earth, summer briar patch, tobacco leaf, cedar wood, and toasty baking spices. |
Taste: | A bold yet well rounded flavor profile, with robust fruit flavors paired with a slight spicy kick. Juicy blackberry, boysenberry, and elderberry lead the way, with berry bramble, cinnamon, cherry licorice, sweet tobacco leaf, and black peppercorn presenting themselves as well. |
Finish: | A truly delicious wine, with ripe, juicy flavors and an outright elegant mouthfeel to boot. |
Pairing: | Perfect for an evening around the BBQ, perhaps with a grilled skirt steak served alongside fresh salsa verde. |
