2009 Carneros Pinot Noir
California: Carneros (Sonoma & Napa)
Dark and pretty with dark garnet hues. At the rim of the glass, a fine ring of ruby adds a glinting highlight.
Dark stone fruit an smoky cherry meld with dried orange peel, subtle allspice and hints of leather, dried wild mushroom and a very subtle note of pine resin.
On the palate, the wine delivers a initial powerful note of dusty black cherry and dried red berries.
This Pinot shows a classic Carneros Pinot with leather, loam, tangerine rind and a hint of cumin. Long after the flavors fade, the mouth is left with a slightly chalky dryness that encourages you to take a nice big sip.
We’ll be enjoying our bottles with a cherry glazed pork loin and a side of buttery mashed potatoes.
