Mission Briefing
Huge Expedition
The Napa Valley is known for big things. Winemaker Andy Erickson made the stuff of legends when he was winemaker for cult classic Screaming Eagle. His focus today is on making Leviathan. And we are true believers.
Cabernet Sauvignon sets the tone with plump and juicy fully-loaded flavors of the Napa Valley. The less common addition of Syrah adds blackberry and stones to the wine’s heart and soul - with Cabernet Franc and Merlot keeping the tale within the Bordeaux idiom.
High quality, big-tasting Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon with mysterious influences lurking beneath the surface that will keep you coming back for more. And unlike Screaming Eagle, Leviathan costs less than $1000 a bottle!
Tasting Profile
Look: | Dark ruby with a blood red glimmer. |
---|---|
Smell: | Blackberries, blueberries, black cherries - fresh and aromatic. Rose petals and dried lavender incense. |
Taste: | Gorgeous berry filled flavor with a bit of graphite and toasty oak. Stone and loam give just the right amount of earthy intrigue to the generously fruited core. Delicious! |
Finish: | Silky smooth with a plush palate-coating berry impression that lurks, lingers, and begs for another sip. |
Pairing: | Don’t let the monstrous label fool you, Leviathan is a big sweetheart at the table. It can handle meatier meals like bbq ribs, or knock back slices of pizza with the best of them. |
