Okay, now on to today’s wine…
As quick as you can, load up! Today’s Grgich Hills Estate 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a stunning example of Napa Valley Cabernet. This wine is bold but balanced. Big but elegant. It hits all of the right notes, while being a very food-friendly wine.
Drink now through 2020 - and beyond.
Dense and inky, with purple edges that darken quickly as you look to the near-black core of the wine.
Very fragrant. Very aromatic. Very abundant, with tons of blackberry, black cherry, sautéed plum, braised fig, tobacco, leather, cassis and dried cranberry.
Lush and supremely elegant on the palate, loaded with classic Napa Cabernet flavors of plum, black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, sweet spice, toasty vanilla, black pepper, tobacco and a hint of supple leather.
Exceedingly long and gradually drying, leaving the palate with hints of spice and oak at the very end.
Enjoy this wine with a garlic rubbed filet!
