Mission Briefing

Om...
You’ve been asking for the return of Mantra Wines and we’ve listened! Today, we are very pleased to showcase their superb 2008 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel.
We love Dry Creek Valley Zins and today’s offering is the wine for lovers of big, bold, delicious Zinfandels. Energetic, zesty and packed with rich aromas and layers of wonderful flavors, this wine put a huge smile on our faces.
Delicious on opening, this wine is even better after some time in the decanter. Enjoy this very highly recommended wine now, but please be sure to hold a couple of bottles to enjoy with richer Fall and Winter fare.
Tasting Profile
Look: | Deep and inky, with dark burgundy hues. At the edge, a soft ring of plum color encircles the wine. |
---|---|
Smell: | Bold yet elegant, with balanced aromas of dark plum, stewed black cherry, blackberry jam, sweet tobacco, leather, warm spice, and dark dried leaves. |
Taste: | Lush and layered with black currant, tobacco, black tea leaf, blackberry jam, braised plum, and softly smoky cranberry. |
Finish: | Extra long, with dark, extracted fruit flavors that linger slowly, giving way to earthy and sweetly spiced flavors that persist the longest. |
Pairing: | Serve this bold and zesty wine with something equally so! We’ll be enjoying ours with spareribs with a balsamic ginger marinade. |
