Mission Briefing
Rudy Can't Fail
Operative favorite von Strasser is back in our Spy cups; this time, however, it’s with a Pinot Noir. (Their Diamond Mountain Cabs are epic, BTW.) Using some of the finest fog-swept Monterey Pinot Noir grown, Rudy’s 2013 namesake is a madly tasty wine that’s worth checking out - before it runs out. Follow us into one of the sweetest spots for Pinot Noir in all of CA, where names like Talbott and Sleepy Hollow helped set the bar fairly high. Go Rudy, Go Rudy, Go, Go, Go Rudy!
Tasting Profile
Look: | Bright garnet. |
---|---|
Smell: | Ripe red fruits and classic Monterey Pinot Noir spices - oceanic fog, woods, mushrooms, coastal berries. |
Taste: | Deep and juicy with lots of ripeness, but also an excellent core of acidity that frames out the fruit nicely. |
Finish: | The finish lasts until the next sip. Gorgeous Pinot Noir flavors linger in the olfactory and palate long after the first sip. Smooth, finely tailored, and mouthwatering. |
Pairing: | Grilled salmon, tacos, pizza with fungi, a lamb burger… and on it goes. Serve it cool - not cold, but cool. |
