Mission Briefing

Sittin' on top of the World

Today’s Random Ridge 2011 Old Wave Sonoma Valley Zinfandel is exactly what we’ve come to expect from winemaker Bill Hawley. Bold, expressive, and absolutely delicious, this Zinfandel is a must buy.

Concentrated and lush, today’s wine is crafted from vines that are well over 100 years old. This results in an almost impossibly smooth, deliciously layered wine that we had trouble putting down. Bold notes of red cherry and boysenberry are balanced by notes of dried fall leaves, vanilla bean, and black peppercorn, resulting in a wine that is as well balanced as it is delicious. And at only $15.99, this is one wine that will make your wallet as happy as your pallet!

We suggest you act fast. With today’s price, this wine will set out fast!

Tasting Profile

Deepest, darkest garnet at the heart of the glass, with a pretty ruby ring at the edge of the glass.

Concentrated aromas of red cherry, with licorice, cherry cola, caramelized oak, sweet spice, tobacco leaf, and dark herbal notes.

Deep, lush flavors of bright red cherry, boysenberry, and sweet plum laid overtop dried fall leaves, berry bramble, hints of aged tobacco leaf, sweet vanilla bean, and touches of black peppercorn spice.

Absolutely delicious, with concentrated flavors and fantastic structure. The fruit flavors linger, slowly giving way to hints of earth and spice at the back of the palate.

Baby back ribs, dry-rubbed with your personal secret spice blend and slow roasted to perfection.
