Mission Briefing

Left Bank, Right Price

A classic Left Bank Bordeaux blend, this delicious and austere 2008 Chateau Goudichaud Rouge is a wonderful blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot.

While we would enjoy this wine all on its own, we feel that this easy drinking and approachable, this delightful French wine is an even better food companion. With balanced acidity and elegant fruit, this wine will complement finer food pairings, rather than overpower them.

If you are looking for a very budget-friendly French wine, look no further. This wine will treat you - and your wallet - very well.

Tasting Profile

Darkest garnet hues with a darker core and bright ruby edges.

Sweet, lush and very balanced with sweet and earthy aromas in even proportion. Dark fruit, earth and spice play together, displaying dark cherry, dried violet, sweetwood, brown spice and a hint of flinty mineral.

Darker on the palate than on the nose, with woodsy, savory and mineral flavors in the lead. These sit atop lush, subtle black cherry, tobacco leaf, plum skin and dark unsweetened berry compote.

Long and drying, with a pronounced minerality at the mid palate that spreads a plush dryness from center to edge.

Enjoy this wine with flatbread loaded with gruyere, arugula and candied pear.
