Mission Briefing
Bring the Noyes
David Noyes has been making wine in Sonoma County for over 30 years. One of the wines we look forward to each vintage is his tiny production (only 75 cases) Pinot Noir from the Crane Vineyard in the Sonoma Coast AVA. This vineyard is defined by the steady wind and fog of the Petaluma Gap that pours in from Bodega Bay. Aromatic and red fruited in the unmistakable style of true Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Under the influence of fog, and loving it.
Tasting Profile
Look: | Bright and clear. Reddish garnet. |
---|---|
Smell: | Pomegranate, woodsy tea spices, strawberry, orange peel, shortbread crumbs! |
Taste: | Juicy, ripe, and Pinot-precise. Such a vivid taste of California Pinot Noir, along with the slight tension and exotic spicing that originates in the wind and fog. |
Finish: | Smooth with just the right amount of tart cherry to let you know it’s a Pinot Noir. Perfectly balanced. |
Pairing: | Grilled wild Pacific salmon. Works every time. |
