Mission Codename Swoon River
“Aromas of ripe red fruits, lavender, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and earth. Flavors of dark cherry, raspberry, plum, mineral, allspice, and fine French oak; tangy acidity; and a long dry finish.” - 94 Points - Christopher Sawyer, Sommelier and Wine Critic
Sourced from three of the most prestigious Russian River Valley vineyards (Rochioli, Floodgate, Hallberg), Alysian’s 2011 Pinot Noir Russian River Selection is a fabulous expression of classic RRV style. 2011 was considered a challenging year, but there were successes, especially in the more aromatic, tension-based character of Pinot Noir. And with Gary Farrell at the wheel - and with this caliber of fruit, the finest French oak, and 20+ years of RRV winemaking experience - there are no vintage letdowns. This is very high quality Pinot Noir for both neophyte and collector. Intensely aromatic, structured, and spicy.
Beautiful now, great for another 8-12 years, easily.
