Mission Briefing
Absolutely delicious!
Today’s Alanté Vineyard & Winery 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a very forthcoming and likable wine that’s everything you hope for in a Napa Cab - and more!
Our Tasting Panel has become quite the tough group as of late. Only the best of the best have made it past our very discriminating palates. Well, not only did today’s wine pass through our panel, but there even was a little back-and-forth about who was taking home the bottle!
Today’s wine has an approachable fruity core that will work wonders on just about anyone, even the grizzled wine industry vets on our panel. If it can put a smile on our faces, we bet you’ll love it as well. Cheers!
Tasting Profile
Look: | Inky and nearly perfectly opaque at its heart. The dark scarlet slowly transforms to a faint, pretty ring around the edge of the glass. |
---|---|
Smell: | Richly layered and just begging to be quaffed, today’s wine features lush aromas of wild strawberry, black cherry, and a bit of Santa Rosa plum, all framed by touches of mushroomy earth, tobacco leaf, dark baking spices, and a subtle rock dust minerality that appears after a swirl or two. These additional aromas complement the fruit amazingly well. |
Taste: | The fruit at the heart of today’s wine is truly something to talk about; it is lush, tightly wound, and seamlessly integrated with secondary flavors. Slightly roasted dark cherry and raspberry beautifully frame notes of sweet tobacco leaf, flinty minerality, dark chocolate, clove, rosemary, and freshly tilled dark earth. |
Finish: | Showing great depth, with wonderfully mouth coating flavors, this is a wine to savor. Concentrated ripe cherries stay with you from beginning to end, begging you for another sip. |
Pairing: | A pan seared rib eye steak, finished with a homemade Béarnaise sauce. |
