The heavy bottle is impressive. The wine will blow you away.

Prepare yourself for one of the most powerful, most food friendly Napa Cabernets to hail from the difficult 2011 vintage. Today’s Priest Ranch 2011 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep, delicious delight.

Here’s what Antonio Galloni each have to say about the wine:

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Priest Ranch jumps from the glass with freshly cut flowers, sweet dark berries and spices. A vinous, inviting wine, the 2011 shows excellent balance and plenty of potential for the future. This is a terrific effort for the year. - Antonio Galloni, 88-91 Points

Tasting Profile

Look:

Deep and opaque, with dark garnet hues.

Smell:

For such a darkly colored wine, it presents a ton of bright, juicy red notes. Cherry, raspberry and cranberry take lead, followed by bramble, slate, violets, black cherry and subtle oak.

Taste:

Juicy and bright up front, then dark fruits take over, delivering tannin, minerals and spice to the far corners of the palate. Cherry and cranberry juice usher in blackberry, black plum, dark minerals and subtle peppery spice.

Finish:

Extra long. Starts juicy and bright and then goes dark, mineral and slightly drying. At the very end, a subtle dash of spice and black pepper reminds you to take another long pull.

Pairing:

Enjoy this wine with a pot roast, beef Stroganoff or anything dark and rich.
