Mission Briefing

Codename:

Highest Ground

A stunner from atop Atlas Peak, today Astrale e Terra 2009 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is pure dynamite.

Today’s wine has yet to be released to the public, but because we enjoy such a close relationship with the winery, they let us debut the wine long before its general release. I recommend this wine with my most hearty endorsement.

This delectable Cab is out of this world delicious. It is complex, juicy, elegant and bursting with flavor. This is mountain Cabernet at its finest. A wine of this caliber fetches $75 to $100, easy. You’ll pay just $34.99 which is over 53% off. This is a steal of a deal on a wine that will rock your socks!

Tasting Profile

Look:

Deep and beautiful ruby red, with even coloration from core to edge.

Smell:

Bursting with Bing cherry, raspberry, strawberry and cassis. As the wine opens up, it unpacks cedar, sage, leather, cherry candy and toasted vanilla oak.

Taste:

Juicy and abundant with black cherry, plum and cassis cascading across the tip of the tongue and mid-palate. As the wine settles onto the back palate, additional flavors of savory spice, supple leather, baked fig, cigar box and sweet flint appear.

Finish:

Elegant and extremely long, with dark fruit slowly receding from the palate to be replaced with oak, flint and subtle sweet spice.

Pairing:

Enjoy this juicy yet complex wine with roast chicken with root veggies, or a nice thick steak.
