Purple Thumb
Dear Operatives - RUN, don’t walk, to get your hands on today’s outstanding Thumbprint Cellars 2012 Winemaker’s Reserve Pinot Noir.
Thumbprint is one of our favorite wineries (with one of the hippest tasting rooms on the Healdsburg Square), and Agent Red worked his tail off to bring them back to TWS. Today’s Pinot is silken on the finish and power-packed with juicy fruit and hints of earth on the palate. Winemaker Scott Lindstrom-Dake has once again crafted a wine we just can’t get enough of!
Today’s wine is offered at an amazing 52% off, so please hurry! A deal this good - on a wine this amazing - won’t last long!
Tasting Profile
Look: | Deep scarlet, with flecks of magenta through and through and a touch of lighter ruby around the fringe. |
---|---|
Smell: | Aromatic notes of smoked cherry and sweet tobacco leaf leap from the glass, with touches of dried rose petal, espresso bean, slight vanilla bean, herbal black tea, and a hint of sage present as well. |
Taste: | Striking bold sweet plum notes greet you upon first sip, with concentrated flavors of a dark plum and blackberry compote framed by hints of cherry cola, European licorice, subtle dark baking spices, sandalwood, and coffee bean. |
Finish: | Long and lingering, this is a hearty and complex Pinot. After a bit of decanting, the fruit flavors really start to sing and provide an excellent drinking experience. |
Pairing: | Grilled pork tenderloin, prepared with a dried herbal rub and topped with a plum balsamic reduction. |
