A glass of Summer
Today’s Mario Bazan Cellars 2012 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc is like liquid summertime. Creamy, silky, delicious summertime.
This wine is wonderfully balanced, both in terms of its flavor profile and its feel on the palate. Fresh fruit harmonizes with lime leaf and caramel. As for feel, the wine starts out fresh & silky and then gains a slight grippiness as the more complex flavors settle onto the palate.
We love this wine for its easy complexity, by which we mean this is a wine that is at once fresh and easy drinking - without being flaccid or boring.
Very highly recommended.
Pure yellow gold with perfect clarity from heart to edge.
Fresh cut hay and Meyer lemon charge out of the glass on first sniff. A deeper inhalation reveals lychee, pineapple, underripe white peach and young pear, with a hint of golden raspberry.
Fresh and bright with Meyer lemon and caramel that present at the tip of the tongue. As the wine settles across the palate, pineapple, white peach, lime leaf and cut grass provide a well-rounded flavor experience.
Very long and full of flavor. As the fruit tails off, hay and lime leaf persist.
Enjoy this wine with cracked crab, crab cakes - or crab anything!
