Here is what Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate had to say about this special wine:
“A blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec, the 2011 Olmo’s Reward is a medium-garnet colour with a hint of purple in the rim and is scented of kirsch, mulberries and raspberry preserves, plus hints of cinnamon stick, pencil shavings and bay leaf. Full-bodied and with a sold backbone of firm, grainy tannins and bright acidity, the generous, multi-layered fruit flesh goes on and on at the finish. Drink it now to 2024+.” - 93 points - Lisa Perotti-Brown, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
Beautiful crimson with glinting ruby highlights.
The nose is overcome with joyous spice, sweet cedar, mixed dark berries and toasty oak. Allow the wine to open up and it reveals sweet cherry cordial, strawberry and toasty oak.
Bright on entry, then dark fruit of blackberry, cassis, black cherry and plum set in. These are followed by sweet spice and earthy flavors of slate and dried leaves.
Long and flavorful, elegant with medium tannin.
Enjoy this right bank-style Aussie delight with a rack of lamb, or your favorite grilled beef.
