Kobler Estate Winery
2013 Russian River Valley Chardonnay
California: Sonoma County: Russian River Valley
Walking on Sunshine
We’re going to let you in on a little secret. Kobler spends a ton of money making their wines - yet they sell them at prices that are accessible to most luxury wine drinkers. They spare no expense on fruit, barrels and everything else that goes into making great wine. Why do they undercharge for their wines? This is how a great winery establishes itself. Put out great wines at an even better price and build loyalty.
Kobler Winery is a relatively recent find for us, but in the short time that we’ve been featuring them, we have really come to love their wines. So have our Operatives.
Today’s Kobler Winery 2013 Russian River Valley Chardonnay is a silky, golden, flavor-filled, liquid sunshine in a glass sort of wine. Elegant on the palate and pleasing to the nose, this is the sort of wine that you’ll find yourself returning to over and over again during the hot months ahead. Just be sure to keep enough on hand to last you the summer.
Pure spun gold, with glinting highlights. Ropey legs cling to the glass on swirling.
Golden apple, Granny Smith apple, white peach, nectarine, zesty lemon and white flower essence.
Soft and elegant, with Meyer lemon, pineapple, young peach, young pear and a hint of vanilla.
Flavors tail off over a long time.
Enjoy this lovely summertime wine all on its own, with fruit and cheese or seafood. Especially crab cakes!
