Mission Briefing
Nostalgia
When Agent Red founded The Wine Spies back in 2007, the first winery he ever visited was the Robert Young Estate Winery. And, the first vineyard that he ever walked was their picturesque home vineyard in the Alexander Valley. The tour was given by Robert Young’s son, Jim, who is now the general manager of the winery.
Red fell in love with the winery, the vineyard and the exciting, sought-after fruit that grew there.
Kelly & Young Wines is the winery of Jim’s wife, Kathleen Kelley Young. Together with Jim, who oversees the Robert Young Vineyard where the superior grapes in today’s wine hail from, Kathleen makes the wines that bear both their names. And the wines are solid, excellent examples of the terrior, the vineyard and the combined skills of this husband and wife team.
Enjoy!
