Mission Codename Alexander the Red
Quickly, dear Operative, before we sell out… Today’s Alexander Valley Vineyards 2010 Cyrus Red is the sort of wine that sells out quickly.
The amount of tender care that today’s wine received is apparent on first sniff. Aromas leap from the glass, greeting with you with rich, dark and complex aromas comprised of dark fruit, earth and spice. On the palate, the wine is also dark and complex, but it possesses a lively acidity that makes it an excellent companion for most foods.
Here is what Steve Heimoff, former Wine Enthusiast Magazine writer, had to say about today’s wine:
“Cyrus is the winery’s highest expression of Cabernet. This 2010 shows the softness and slight herbaceousness of Alexander Valley, but it’s rich and delicious in blackberries, cherries, currants and sandalwood. Blended from all five classic Bordeaux varieties, it holds subtle complexity. - S.H. (7/1/2014)
