Mission Briefing

Red's Dream

The Bien Nacido Vineyard was named one of the Top 25 vineyards in the world by Wine & Spirits Magazine. It was Food & Wine Magazine that called the vineyard one of the Ten best vineyards. Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator Magazine and Wine Enthusiast Magazine routinely award 90+ point scores to wines made from Bien Nacido Vineyard fruit.

Bien Nacido is the birthplace of high-scoring, high-dollar wines from Gary Farrell Winery, Longoria, Sine Qua Non, Au Bon Climat, Ojai Vineyard, Paul Lato and Twomey, to name just a few. If you’ve ever had a Bien Nacido Pinot Noir, you’re probably not even reading these words. You’ve probably already pushed the big red buy button and are on your way to securing a case or two - before we run out.

Today’s Villa Mt. Eden 2009 Bien Nacido Vineyard Pinot Noir is a rare gem. One that delivers incredible value - and an exceptional, delicious, elegant drinking experience.

Tasting Profile

Garnet from core to edge, with perfect clarity.

Lush and full, with bold black cherry, cedar plank, raspberry, wild mushroom, sweet tobacco, forest floor and soft spice.

Black cherry and blackberry juice wrapped around sweet spice, raspberry, dusty bramble, tobacco leaf, cocoa powder and forest floor.

Long and bright with darker fruits tailing off to earth and spice components. Supple tannins spread a crushed velvet dryness across the palate.

Enjoy this wine with an herb roasted chicken or BBQ baby back ribs, slathered with a tangy sauce.
