Mission Briefing
Capo di tutti capi
Today’s Arcanum Wines 2009 Toscana Red Wine is an incredible wine that will blow you away at first sip - then continue to thrill you as the wine evolves in your glass. This wine is perfect now, and it will only continue to improve with age. Supply is very limited, so please hurry.
On the nose, this wine is full and bold, with intense aromas of black cherry, dark raspberry, blackberry, cassis and plum in the primary position. As the wine opens up, it reveals wild mushroom, sweet cigar, caramelized sugar, vanilla, oak, spice, dried beef, black pepper and a hint of pencil box.
Dark and incredibly juicy on the palate, for an Italian wine. Bold blackberry juice and black cherry usher in plum, cassis, sweet tobacco leaf, dusty fig, raspberry, dried cranberry, cedar, bramble, sweet spice and a hint of white pepper.
Here is what Wine Spectator Magazine had to say about this wine, when they reviewed it earlier this year:
“Dense and powerful, this red layers ripe black currant, cherry, chocolate, prune and spice flavors over firm, assertive tannins. This is starting to hit its stride, but needs food to match the tannins. Drink now through 2018.” - 94 Points - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, March 2015
