We’re crazy about the wines of Deerfield Ranch Winery - and so are our Operatives. In 2014, our Operatives made a Deerfield’s @Cabernet our most popular Cabernet Sauvignon of the year. That wine outsold all other Cabs by a wide margin.

Today, we proudly present you with the opportunity to enjoy another fantastic Deerfield @ wine, the delicious, balanced, juicy and very food friendly Deerfield Ranch Winery 2009 @Merlot. If you are looking for a great party wine that won’t break the bank, or a lovely weekday nightly drinker with dinner, look no further. This wine is a great choice!

Tasting Profile

Look:

Darkest garnet, with a beautiful ring of gleaming ruby at the very edge.

Smell:

Bold black cherry and blackberry candy in the lead. These are closely followed by cassis, cigar box, dried violets, black pepper, cocoa nibs and a hint of sweet baking spice.

Taste:

Dark and juicy, with blackberry and black cherry juice, sweet cedar, black plum, cassis, dried fall leaves, subtle spice and subtle tobacco.

Finish:

Medium long, with bold black fruit that gradually tails off, leaving behind earthy elements of wood, leaves and spice.

Pairing:

Enjoy this very flexible wine with pasta dishes, grilled red meats, pork - or nearly anything you care to throw at it.
