Mission Briefing

Codename:

Thumbs Up

We’ve been featuring the fine wines of Thumbprint Cellars for nearly 8 years now. Their wines are beloved by our Operatives, who have been asking us to showcase one of the winery’s fabulous summertime whites. You asked, we listened. We listened really well.

We’re proud to bring you the delectable Thumbprint Cellars 2013 Russian River Valley Catie’s Corner Chardonnay. We were offered the opportunity to secure every last bottle that the winery had left in stock - and we took them all. Once this wine sells out here, there won’t be another opportunity to buy it again. So, dear Operative, get it while you can.

You’ll enjoy this very food-friendly wine with a number of pairings, from lighter fish & fowl, to more complex foods like Thai dishes (papaya salad would be amazing) or a spicy Indian curry. We’ll also be enjoying ours as an afternoon sipper on the back porch.

Tasting Profile

Look:

Brilliant yellow golden hues with brilliant clarity through and through.

Smell:

Lemon leaf, Meyer lemon, lime peel, lemon flower, golden delicious apple, sand pear, dried straw and the most subtle hint of fresh fennel frond.

Taste:

Lemon curd, Meyer lemon, Makrut Thai lime zest, lemongrass, subtle butterscotch, oak and a hint of white pepper.

Finish:

Long and flavor-packed with fruit flavors that gradually tail off as a soft dryness slowly encroaches from the edges.

Pairing:

Enjoy this marvelous and food friendly Chardonnay with fish or fowl… or as a delightful afternoon aperitif.
