Mario Bazan Cellars
2008 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
California: Napa Valley
Hurry, dear Operative! Today’s Mario Bazan Cellars 2008 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon will not last the day. The winery was gracious enough to allow us to purchase every last case that they had, but their wines are very popular around here and we anticipate an early sell out.
Today’s wine has been lovingly stored and with 7 years of aging, it is a ready to drink delight that is still reaching its peak.
This is a very fragrant wine, with loads of dark fruit, earthen notes and spice on the nose. On the palate, the wine is dark and bold and loaded with juicy black fruit, tobacco leaf, chocolate and balanced, earthy spice.
Mario Bazan Cabernets have become some of our best-selling small-producer cabs of the last several years. If you’ve tried their wines, you know why. If you haven’t, well, we hope that you grab some of today’s wine - before we run out
Dark burgundy hues throughout, with a slightly opaque heart.
Fragrant and lush with bold aromas of baked cherry, blackberry compote, plum and cassis with toasted hazelnut, cocoa, toasted oak and dark spices.
Bold and dark, laden with a reduction of blackberry, black cherry, cassis and plum. These are followed by tobacco leaf, bramble, darkly toasted oak, baker’s chocolate, slate minerals and black pepper.
Long and drying as plush tannins sweep across the palate, leaving behind a crushed velvet grippiness.
Make no mistake, this is a wine for a steak!
