Mission Codename G Troop
Today’s Washington state wine give the Napa Valley a real run for its money!
When our tasting panel reviewed today’s Mercer Wine Estate 2011 Columbia Valley Reserve Cavalie, they heaped a ton of praise upon it. Each panelist agreed that this wine was something really very special. In fact, Agent Red went out on a limb and and gave this wine a score - which is something he does not usually do. The score he awarded? A stellar 95 points!
This wine is very fragrant and full on the nose with aromatic black cherry, smoked blueberry, black currant, bramble, dusty earth, sweet spice and supple leather. Dark, juicy and delicious on the palate, with loads of dark fruit, earth and spice. Black cherry, blackberry and plum take the lead. These are followed by dark spice, smoked black cherry, braised plum, dried cranberry and black pepper braised mission fig.
The finish is ultra long and absolutely packed with wall-to-wall flavors that coat the entire palate. Gradually drying, eventually ending (if you are patient enough to wait that long) in a plush, crushed velvet dryness.
