The wine is fragrant and full on the nose, with gorgeous aromas of black cherry, plum, raspberry, cranberry, dried wild mushroom, dark minerals with hints of spice and black pepper. On the palate, this lovely Merlot is juicy and dark, with bold red fruit flavors of Bing cherry, blackberry, raspberry, cranberry and red currant that lead to earth, leather, spice, tobacco, cigar box, slate and toasty oak.
Three generations of the Sangiacomo family have farmed their family vineyards in the Carneros AVA. World renowned for growing distinctive, award-winning cool climate grapes, the family is also well known for producing fruit of quality and distinction. Today’s fruit comes exclusively from select vineyard rows, resulting in a wine that is delicious, elegant and very special.
The Sonoma Coast AVA is the 750 square mile area with the Pacific ocean on its western boundary, the San Pablo Bay to the south and Mendocino County to the north, headed inland to the other designated AVAs in Sonoma County. The region is heavily influenced by the cooler ocean climate, increased rainfall and fog that lingers long on the coastal mountains. The specific climate suits the demanding Bordeaux varietal of Merlot very well.

Exceptionally long, with juicy fruit flavors that last for a very long time, gradually yielding to earth and spice - eventually leaving the palate with a plush, softly dry feel.
This is a classic, elegant merlot that is exceptionally - and very flexibly - ‘food friendly’. Especially recommended with an elegant cut of meat, like a perfectly seared filet mignon.
