Vitis vinifera
Today, I have a very special Maroon wine for you, the rich and rustic (91 point and Gold medal winning) 2012 Reserve Single Vineyard Malbec. This wine combines great California fruit with the layered, savory stylings of a born-in-Chile Malbec. This wine is big, broad and boastful, and with its long and elegant finish, it makes for a great food companion.
This is one very aromatic wine. On the nose, it is sweet and full, with dark mixed berry compote of blackberry, raspberry and blueberry, followed by plum, dried leaves, bramble, dark spice and black pepper. Full and layered on the palate, this wine shows off dark plum, blackberry and black cherry, with bramble, braised mission fig, dried leaves, dark spice and a dash of black pepper.
Find out why Maroon Wines is one of the most popular wineries among our faithful Operatives. And be sure to take advantage of the special savings that we’re offering. At today’s price, you won’t be disappointed. We guarantee it.
Here’s what the Beverage Tasting Institute had to say about this wine:
”Violet color. Bright, fruity aromas and flavors of boysenberry custard, honeyed cherries, and toffee with a supple, tangy, fruity medium-to-full body and a warming, stimulating, medium-length finish with shades of nuts, baking spices, and pencil shavings with crunchy tannins and light oak. A very nice juicy Malbec with good structure for the table.”
