Spot On

Today’s Peterson Winery 2011 Bradford Mountain Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel is another stunning wine from Jamie Peterson. Jamie truly has the magic touch, consistently crafting wines of the highest quality and class.

A deep scarlet in the glass, today’s wine is a very well balanced and refreshing Zin that is a sure crowd pleaser. What we really love about today’s wine is the pure elegance that shines through, with subtle red fruit and earth in place of the overpowering flavors you might find in other Zins. In fact, today’s wine has such a luxurious feel to it that we paired ours with a gourmet meal of roast duck breast…yum!

If you’ve never experienced a Peterson wine, today is the day to let them win you over. Cheers!

Tasting Profile

Look:

A nearly perfectly diffuse scarlet, with a rustic earthiness to the coloring.

Smell:

A heady blend of dark berries and earth, with braised dark blackberry, mulberry, and raspberry mingling with freshly tilled earth, briar patch, black peppercorn, and a hint of sweet tobacco leaf.

Taste:

An incredibly well rounded flavor profile, with bright red fruit, sweet leather, and a slight spice in perfect balance. Dark cherry, mulberry, and just ripened blackberry lead the way, quickly trailed by vanilla bean, dark roasted coffee, black peppercorn, and a slight hint of smoky log fire embers.

Finish:

A well balanced and super refreshing Zin, with an elegance and pop of acidity that makes today’s wine a real treat for Zinfandel fans. The berry notes linger with you, until just a hint of black peppercorn remains at the edge of your tongue.

Pairing:

Roasted duck breast, served with a dark cherry-balsamic reduction.
